Healthcare professionals seeking opportunities overseas must navigate different registration requirements, language tests, visa rules, sponsorship conditions and application processes. Searching across several countries can quickly become overwhelming.
H|M begins by developing a focused candidate profile based on qualifications, professional registration, experience, preferred roles and destination countries. This helps the Opportunity Engine identify positions that are more closely aligned with the candidate’s background and goals.
The system can search for nursing, healthcare-assistant, caregiving and support-work opportunities across countries such as New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States. Relevant registration requirements, application deadlines, sponsorship information and official links are organised for review.
Where requested, H|M can also assist with preparing application documents, drafting communications and tracking progress. Candidates remain responsible for reviewing and authorising their applications.
H|M does not sell jobs or guarantee employment, visa approval, professional registration or sponsorship. Our role is to provide technology, information and practical application support.
Free guide: plan an international healthcare job search
Use this checklist before applying. Requirements vary by role and destination, and a promising listing is only a starting point.
- Choose a specific role and destination. Record whether you are seeking registered nursing, healthcare assistant, caregiver or support work.
- Check professional registration and language requirements with the destination’s official regulator. For care and support roles, check the employer’s requirements for that exact role.
- Read the original employer advert. Record the closing date, location, eligibility and any explicit sponsorship statement. If sponsorship is not stated, mark it “unconfirmed”.
- Prepare a current CV, qualifications, registration evidence and references as requested. Never send sensitive documents to an unverified contact.
- Track the application link and date, and check whether you or an H|M automation service has already applied before submitting.
Official nursing registration starting points
- New Zealand Nursing Council: internationally qualified nurses
- Australia Nursing and Midwifery Board: before you apply
- Canada NNAS: application process (check the provincial or territorial regulator too)
- Ireland NMBI: qualified outside the EU
- UK NMC: trained outside the UK (including Scotland)
Check current immigration rules with the destination’s official immigration authority. These links are starting points, not an assessment of your eligibility.
